PDP boycotts Pulwama district development board meeting

Srinagar, July 27 (PTI) For the second time in as many days, opposition PDP today boycotted a district development board meeting and held protests against the government for its alleged failure to protect lives of innocent people. "DDB meeting is just an attempt to hoodwink the masses.PDP MLAs today boycotted the meeting of Pulawama district and held protest against the government for its failure to protect lives of innocent people," the PDP said in a statement here. Yesterday, PDP legislators had walked out of Anantnag district development board meeting. "On the one hand, killings of innocent of people have been going on, on the other hand development activities have come to a standstill since formation of National Conference- led coalition. So there is no reason to convene DDB meetings," PDP MLAs said while coming out of the meeting today. PDP MLAs Mohammed Khalil Bandh, Sayed Bashir, Zahoor Ahmed Mir and Mushtaq Shah accused the government of holding such meetings just to "divert the attention of the people from other important issues".
